BOOM ROOM REBOOT

THE BOOM ROOM, REBOOTED
Most festival DJ stages run on a familiar format. One DJ per hour. A few prime hours every DJ wants. The rest more sparsely attended. We're trying something different this year.
HOW IT WORKS
Twenty-minute sets, revolving, all night. Each DJ opens, prime times, closes. More diversity, more collaboration. All gear is set up at the start and stays up. Each DJ brings their own preferred gear. Back-to-backs happen whenever two DJs want them. You won't know who's playing next. Neither will they.
THE CREW MAKING IT RUN
Welterweight, Set Coordinator. Working with each DJ on where their twenty-minute slots land across the night, so the music flows from one to the next.
bPollen, Vibe Tuner. Tuning the rooms. Concept, energy, the feel of the space before the music starts.
Kristen Lauer, Light Sculptor. Designing the light you'll dance in.
Braden & Kyle, Sound Engineers. Running festival-grade EDM sound they built themselves, with love and epic nerd brains.
Meredith Glow, Glow Lux. Contributing her glow furniture to the room. Out for a family trip but with us in spirit. https://getglowlux.com/
Philippe Levy, Disruptor & Convener. Breaking the old format. Calling the crew together.
OPEN DECKS LOUNGE
New this year
Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 - 10:30pm, the Boom Boom Room becomes Open Decks Lounge before the night kicks into gear.
The inside of the quonset hut turns into a seating lounge. Lower volume. Mellow tunes. Non-continuous mixing, with DJs sharing technique, talking through their approach, presenting audio. A hangout, not a dance floor. The intent is a creative space where DJs and curious attendees can swap craft, and where the room doesn't compete with the Up Stage on energy.
We especially want younger DJs and producers to use this. If you've been wanting to share something you're working on, mix in front of people for the first time, or just learn how others put a set together, this is the time. Youth at Us Fest are creative stakeholders in this stage.
At 10:30pm, we move Meredith's glow furniture out in front of the hut for the rest of the evening, and the Boom Room transitions into its full revolving format.
THE NIGHTS
Friday Opener: Starsskreem (Ethan), 10–11pm. Heads up for the older crowd. Ethan is 17 and plays amped, current youth-leaning electronic music. Loud, fast, and not built for everyone's nervous system. The trade is real, though: this is what's on the pulse right now, played by someone living inside it. Worth showing up for if you want to hear where the form is actually going. If it's not your speed, the revolving sets start at 11.
Friday: GGarretson, Captain Pedro
Saturday: bPollen, Giancarlo, Welterweight, Ells
Sunday: Saint Martian, Welterweight, Ells, Maxwell
We are excited to create a meaningful experience for all of Us!
